Treatment for serious mental disorders
Welcome to the Family Support Center of San Diego. We offer counseling and therapy services to adult and adolescent clients who are dealing with major mental illnesses including bipolar disorder, depression, psychosis, and schizophrenia. When appropriate and possible, we can include the entire family in treatment. We also provide individual therapy.
We use short-term, well-researched treatment methods (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Focused Therapy) which are documented to be helpful for people whose mental illnesses create significant problems in living.
Our belief is that no one is to blame for the development of a mental disorder. We believe that mental illness is caused by a combination of genetic factors and life stress, and our focus is on helping individuals and their families reduce stress in their lives.
Our center is staffed by Dr. Irwin Rosenfarb, the Director of the Family Support Center, and students in the clinical psychology doctoral program at Alliant International University.
If you or someone you know is dealing with major mental health issues please contact us to discuss how our services may be of help. Call our center’s director, Dr. Irwin Rosenfarb, at (858) 635-4782 or contact us through the website.
We look forward to meeting you soon. We are here to help!
